[Riehlworldview.com] Riehl World View: H5N1: Has Human To Human Transfer Begun?: The Avian flu that caused the 1918 Flu epidemic only killed between 2 or 3% of the people it infected and it still effectively wiped out some 20,000,000 people around the globe in only nine months. So I would not take much solace in the fact H5N1 may be losing some of it's lethality as it gains in it's efficiency to spread between humans as this is the natural course of influenza viruses anyway.
