[The Coming Influenza Pandemic?] This H5N1 is silently spreading mild disease in human and asymptomatic infections in poultry, which would more the pandemic to phase 6. The seeding of the human population with H5N1 sets the stage for further recombination in the fall when migratory birds bring in new sequences, which will cause new problems.

[Orbis-quintus.net] Orbis Quintus » Blog Archive » H5N1: and we just watched ”Winged ...: Wikipedia notes the progress of avian bird flu for the past few years, and it’s notable that it seems to have jumped into the wild migratory fowl (specifically bar-headed geese) from the domestic poultry. It’s probably always been present, but thinking about migratory patterns in the spread of H5N1 is a spooky reminder.
